A shrill alarm cut through the silence of the Quantum Dynamics Institute.

Several warning indicators in the main laboratory simultaneously turned red. Monitors flickered, sensors were overwhelmed with readings, and a deep, pulsating hum caused the floor to tremble slightly.

“What is happening out there?” Lucas shouted as he rushed to his control console.

“It isn't coming from our equipment,” Evelyn replied, her fingers moving rapidly across the keyboard. “The energy is being generated... right here in the laboratory!”

All eyes turned toward the center of the experimental chamber.

The air began to shimmer. At first, it was barely visible distortion, but within seconds it condensed into a shimmering circle of silver-blue light. Tiny strands of light danced across its surface, as if searching for something.

Aiden cautiously took a step closer.

Lucas activated every available sensor.

“What about it?” Evelyn asked.
